Steve Davies will take over from Dr. Brett Pugh who will retire as School Standards Director in January 2016.
Mr Davies has been the Managing Director of the Education Achievement Service for South East Wales since March 2012. Prior to this he was Managing Director of GleedsCocentra Ltd, an education company that has worked with more than 5,000 schools in the UK and internationally and 147 local authorities in England and Wales.
He has also taught at secondary schools in Kent and Bristol and was Chief Inspector of Schools and Director of Education in two separate London boroughs.

"Steve’s appointment follows a rigorous interview process in which he competed against a strong field of candidates I am pleased that we are able to appoint someone of Steve’s calibre and experience to this challenging and important role."
