Raising Standards Together

Reflective practice

Reflective practice is a key characteristic of the professional learning model (PLM).

Reflective practice, when undertaken effectively, enables practitioners to take responsibility to constantly improve and develop their pedagogical skills. Through continual reflection on their professional learning, practitioners will be able to recognise and measure the impact on their practice. Reflective practitioners regularly question both what they do and why, with a view to learning from their experiences.

They systematically evaluate their practice, and continually draw out strengths and areas for development.

See Professional Learning Pack (all topics).

All topics provide a range of practical and interactive tools to enable practitioners to continually reflect on their practice in an effective way.
